The Nagoya Children’s Choir was founded in 1966 and has since then performed around the globe. Highlights include performing in the Hungary State Opera’s production of Bizet’s Carmen, singing at the 2003 International Children and Girls’ Choral Festival in Latvia, a concert tour of Australia in 2007, and in 2013, taking part in the St Petersburg International Choral Festival, where they were awarded the audience prizes in the modern and folk music sections.
In 2016, the choir celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special series of concerts in Japan. Their CDs include ‘Good evening Moon’ and a collection of Japanese children’s songs. Recent appearances include singing with Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari Opera in their production of Puccini’s Turandot, and with the Bulgarian National Theatre Opera in Carmen.
